Jehu was a man chosen by God to be the king of Israel. Additionally, he was selected by God for a specific purpose: to eliminate the house of Ahab. There was never a king out of the northern kingdom of Israel who was considered righteous in the sight of God. Jehu's account is fascinating in many aspects. Initially, he appeared to show promise, but eventually, his life demonstrated the indicative nature of the rulers who came before him.
