Gospel Preaching
At the Taylorsville Road church of Christ, you will find that sound preaching and teaching are held in high regard. This follows the pattern of the first century which was established by Jesus and exemplified by the early community of Christians (Matt. 4:23; 5:1-2; Acts 2:42; 20:7-11, 20).
Although these forms of proclamation may occur in any setting, our congregation sets aside a large portion of the Sunday worship assemblies to this act. You will find that the sermons are by no means flowery and watered-down. They are meant to challenge and inspire the spirit and mind of each person. They are prepared to engage the audience through the inspired Word of God and are not designed to be political, humanistic, charismatic, or secular in nature. Furthermore, each sermon and class is tailored to exactly fit the context in which the biblical text was originally written. This means all areas of context (e.g. historical, literary, socioeconomic, etc.) are considered and analyzed in order to properly handle the words of truth (2 Tim. 2:15).
