Deacons serve a vital role in the church of Jesus Christ. They tend to the necessary needs of the congregation that would otherwise detract the shepherds from exercising oversight. Deacons are servant-leaders, appointed for their expertise and experience based on the qualifications listed in 1 Timothy 3:8-13. This class examines their role, qualifications, how verse 11 relates to the context, and what does and does not constitute a deacon.
