After warning the people not to flee to Egypt, Jeremiah is accused a liar and taken down to Egypt with the remaining people of Judah. Their flight to Egypt will not bring the escape and protection that they think it will; rather, death and destruction will pursue them there as well. The add to this peril by engaging in religious syncretism by blending YHWH worship with Queen of Heaven worship.
