Peter, as much as anyone ever can, illustrates the iniquitous perils of overconfidence and lack of courage. Nevertheless, his repentance and victory in spite of the ultimate catastrophe of denying Jesus at His trials is a lesson that we can all be inspired by to more faithfully serve in spite of our weaknesses.
