Several decades ago, Thomas A. Dorsey, the "father of black gospel music", wrote a beautiful song to help cope with the loss of his wife and child in childbirth. The song remains to this day an inspiration and one of the most popular hymns of all time. It is based in the very biblical idea of the Lord offering His hand to His people to lead them home.
