Ten Things Our Young People Need To Know.
Satan is constantly vying for the hearts and souls of all people. And as the lion hunts for the inexperienced and underdeveloped first, our adversary, a roaring lion (1 Peter 5:8), seeks first for our children (Proverbs 22:3). He does this with our children so that he can simultaneously attack them and us. He is also crafty and in attacking young people, he can groom an entire generation into full-fledged rebellion by planting seeds of deception early (Judges 2:10). He is wily and shrewd in his lawlessness (Ephesians 6:10-13; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
In defense against this perpetual threat, the Lord has timelessly encouraged parents to cultivate godliness in the hearts of young people by developing the seeds of divine dependence that children naturally begin with (Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:4). If these seeds are not watered and cultivated, the heart will turn away from God at an early age and pursue the way of the world (Genesis 8:21; Psalms 58:3).
