King David was a man after God's own heart. He is an incredible example of faith. However, he also made awful choices in the events surrounding his prohibited relationship with Bathsheba. Despite the graphic and abysmal consequences of these errors, David's contrite heart reached out to God for forgiveness and he was fully forgiven of his actions. This is perhaps the greatest example he has left for us - the transformation God works in forgiveness of sins.
