The Kings of Medo-Persia
Series: The Kings of the EarthThe kings of Medo-Persia are a mixed bag. On the one hand, their progressive policies greatly benefitted the Jews as they returned from Babylonian captivity and rebuilt the Temple and the city of Jerusalem. On the other hand, the Persian monarchs were immoral and easily led into disastrous situations that jeopardized the welfare of the Jews, most notably in the later life of Daniel, and as Esther and Mordecai had to contend with the antagonist Haman, who sought to commit mass genocide against the Jews.
